Student's Exchange Journey: Learning and Creating ESG Project in South Korea

Mimi Phusita Jiwaluk, a second-year Communication Design student from the School of Fine and Applied Arts, this dream became reality along with an award that validates her capabilities.

For many students, exploring the world through study is a dream. For Mimi Phusita Jiwaluk, a second-year Communication Design student from the School of Fine and Applied Arts, this dream became reality along with an award that validates her capabilities.

The Beginning

As a Prakaipetch scholarship student with 100% tuition coverage for 4 years, Mimi never stops seeking opportunities for self-development. "When I first heard about the international exchange program, I was immediately interested because I wanted to practice my English. I chose Dongseo University in South Korea after consulting with Asst. Prof.Dr.Khemmiga Teerapong from the School of Fine and Applied Arts about course equivalency and curriculum suitability."

Journey to New Learning

This journey wasn't just about improving language skills; it opened doors to success when Mimi participated in the university's ESG Contest, recommended by her professor. "This competition focused on ESG, and I chose to present the Environmental aspect because it's relatable and most accessible. The concept was to create a video about plastic bottle recycling in an adventure format, collaborating with Zulfiqar, my Pakistani friend. What makes this work special is how it combines knowledge from both institutions - ESG concepts learned in Thailand and photography skills from Dongseo University."

The project received an honorable mention in the contest, which required creating a video under 3 minutes promoting the university's ESG strategies, particularly focusing on Zero-waste campus and Green-Campus initiatives. "During my one-semester stay, I learned about production, behind-the-scenes work, and incorporated Typography knowledge from Thailand. I hope this work will help raise social responsibility awareness among friends and viewers."
