BU-FIP Student Wins Thairath Money Creator Award

Congratulations to Tonkhun Ratchaphruek Phuengsomsak, a first-year student in the Financial and Investment Planning program at the School of Business Administration (BU-FIP), who won first place in the Thairath Money Creator Audition 2025 at the Thairath Money Campus Tour 2025. He received a cash prize of 10,000 baht and a scholarship for the CFP® Module 1 professional financial planner training course, and will represent the university in the national competition.

From Mistakes to Inspiration for Sharing Knowledge

"I've loved investment and finance since I was young," Tonkhun shares about his beginnings learning on his own from books, YouTube, and his father's teachings, eventually making real investments with mixed results. "My decision to join this program didn't come from confidence in content creation skills, but from a desire to share lessons learned. I don't want others to make the same mistakes I did. I want to share both theory and real experience. Even though I'm not good at making content, this program is an opportunity to learn more about content creation."

10 Minutes That Changed Everything

The Thairath Money Campus Tour 2025 came to Bangkok University to find new financial influencers. After applying and submitting a video for selection, it was time to prepare for the real stage. Tonkhun recalls, "I was in class when the team called and asked me to stand by, so I immediately got up. But what was even more exciting was receiving the topic only 10 minutes before presenting. The topic was: talk about anything related to economics, technology, and investment. I chose technology as my selling point because I wanted to stand out from other competitors and show that technology can reduce costs in everything."

Tonkhun opened with a question that resonated with the audience, then shared a real experience from his own home. "My family uses agricultural drones for rice farming, saving both money and time. This is just one example of how technology helps every profession. But what's important is having access to correct knowledge to understand and actually benefit from it."

The 1,000-Baht Answer That Won the Judges

After the presentation, the judges asked a question that Tonkhun believes helped him win: "If you had 1,000 baht, what would you invest in? I answered that I'd buy products to resell, because if we invest normally, we won't have money immediately. But if we buy things to sell, the profit can be used right away without waiting."

Advice for Young People Who Want to Be Wealthy

Tonkhun shares: "Financial stability isn't about how much income you have, but how much you save to invest. Good investment requires time as a factor, so why not start today?"
