BU ECON Student Joins Financial Career Camp

It's no surprise that many people are seeking opportunities to develop themselves and prepare for future career paths, especially in the rapidly growing financial and investment sectors. Today, we introduce you to Stem, Mr. Peeraphol Chucherd, one of the 100 selected participants in the Exclusive Financial Career Camp, part of the New Breed Capital Market Financial Professionals 2024 project. This program equips participants with knowledge and skills, paving the way for careers in finance, both in financial institutions and publicly listed companies. The camp is organized by the New Breed program of the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

But getting into this camp wasn't easy. "To join this activity, I had to pass five stages. After applying, I had to study the AISA curriculum and pass the
Post-test for all nine subjects. Then, I had to participate in the AISA scholarship selection test, where I ranked in the top 250 and received the AISA scholarship. But it didn't end there. I also had to complete AISA practice exercises to earn points for the camp selection, with only 100 participants making it to the Exclusive Financial Career Camp."

Once in the camp, Sastem participated in workshops and visited various businesses to gain real-world experience in the business world and professional work environments. He also engaged in group activities with new friends from diverse backgrounds, which was a great opportunity to build new networks and connections. "In this camp, there were two tracks. I chose the Financial Professional @ Financial Institutions track, where I learned to use investment analysis tools, received training on Financial Projection & Valuation through e-learning, studied the roles and developments of the capital market, and practiced financial analysis and investment management. The most exciting part was that my team won 1st runner up place in the financial analysis and investment management case study competition!"

"The experience gained from participating in this project is incredibly valuable. Not only did I get to meet new friends and build connections with people who have similar passions, but I can also truly apply the knowledge of securities analysis and investment from this new classroom to my future work."
