Featured Stories — BU X BERKELEY SKYDECK FUND HACKATHON 2024

Bangkok University organizes The 2nd BU X BERKELEY SKYDECK FUND HACKATHON 2024 under the theme of Innovative Business Project, an international hackathon competition open to undergraduate and graduate students. Participants present business projects, with more than 58 teams from 23 universities across 7 countries expressing interest to join the competition at Bangkok University.







The hackathon competition is divided into 2 rounds. In the preliminary round, participants must submit a temporary business project in the form of an online video clip, with a length of 5 minutes, to qualify for the final round. The final round is a 2-day hackathon competition where participants must refine and present their complete business projects to the judging panel, chaired by Mr. Purat Osathanugrah, the President of Bangkok University. The winning teams are awarded as follows

The 1st place winning team Glowco from Chulalongkorn University
In the project “Painless home use cholesterol screening kit”

The 2nd place winning team Workhard REPS from Petra Christian University
In the project “Repurposed - Green Bin”

The 3rd place winning team Surety from Singapore University of Social Sciences
In the project “Surety Menopause Management”
The Honorable Mention awards for 4 teams
Team PEEL Lab from Hosei University in the project of “Pineapple Leather”
Team Excel In Stone from Asian Institute of Technology in the project of “Thirsty Concrete”
Team UGBN from Bangkok University, Chiang Mai University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi in the project of “IoT-ULAP”
And Team League Apollo : Quick Tech from Bangkok University in the project of “Innovative Business Idea”




The BU X BERKELEY SKYDECK FUND HACKATHON 2024 is an event aimed at promoting essential skills for business projects or innovation development and fostering collaboration among students, startups and venture capitalists (VCs) in Thailand. It also encourages collaboration among university students in Thailand and abroad, as well as with Berkeley SkyDeck Fund, along with global-level partners.
