BU International Summer Festival 2025

Bangkok University organized the "BU International Summer Festival 2025," a festival that brings together cultures from various countries to create a multicultural society and provide opportunities for both Thai and international program students to exchange and learn about cultural diversity. This activity is a collaboration between the International Center, Bangkok University International, Center for Holistic Student Development, Student Union, clubs, and various activity groups to enhance the international atmosphere before entering the summer semester.

The event featured an exciting blend of diverse cultural activities, including performances by Thai and International students including the exchange students, cultural showcases from different nations, international music and songs, as well as key highlights such as the Holi Festival from South Asia where students participated in color throwing, and the Songkran Festival which was added this year and received positive feedback. Dr.Supat Rattanasuksun, Director, International Center said, "Almost all of us at the International Center and most faculty members at Bangkok University have experienced studying abroad. Therefore, we understand the importance of creating spaces for cultural expression and providing opportunities to exchange and learn about the beauty of cultural differences from friends during the time studying in a foreign country. We understand our international students well. Organizing international activities is The Must that should be done and must be done regularly, providing another Comfort Zone for students to proudly share their identities."

Dr. Supat also mentioned, "Fun, open-mindedness, embracing, and learning—these are the essence of the Festival, which is not merely a carnival or seasonal celebration, but also a platform that gathers knowledge and beauty of international cultures together. This allows participants to both have fun and learn simultaneously through direct experiences that broaden their worldview. We hope that students will experience cultural diversity positively, recognize differences with understanding and respect, and be open to learning new things they may not have known or been familiar with before."

Additionally, a special highlight this year was a charity fundraising through international food booths, with all proceeds donated to the Phayathai Babies' Home Foundation. This is part of promoting students' awareness of sustainable development according to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in terms of educational equality and addressing hunger issues, creating a meaningful learning experience through giving.
The BU International Summer Festival 2025 opens up space for students to express their own cultures and learn from others, helping to strengthen International Competence necessary for the 21st century, whether it be intercultural communication, adaptation, respect for diversity, and open-minded thinking.
