BU Accounting Students Win Silver Medal, Proving Their Potential at Thailand Accounting Case Competition 2025

Congratulations to the accounting students from Team Kar-Ki for winning the silver medal at the Thailand Accounting Case Competition 2025, the largest and most prestigious accounting case competition in the country.

Congratulations to the Faculty of Accounting students, Team Kar-Ki, for winning the silver medal at the Thailand Accounting Case Competition 2025, the most prestigious and widely recognized national accounting case study competition in the accounting profession. Organized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Thailand under Royal Patronage, through the Professional Committee on Education and Technology in Accounting Education and Technology, this competition serves as a platform to test real business analysis and problem-solving skills, creative alternative presentations, and teamwork – all essential skills that modern businesses seek in new-generation accountants.

The Beginning of Competition Journey Toward Shared Dreams

Team Kar-Ki consists of 5 members led by Beb Supitcha Wongpitak, Am Narudee Thammasit, First Thanabodee Pittayamas, Mei Kamonluk Thonglo, and Gaga Maneekan Bualoeng. All five are 4th-year students from the Faculty of Accounting. They shared the story of how their team formed: "Before becoming a team of 5, we received competition information from our professor. Am and Beb were interested in participating, so they invited First, May, and Kaka to join. The team formation wasn't coincidental – it came from observing each other's academic work skills, combined with presentation skills as our strong point, creating a perfect team."

First Steps into Competition: Deep Dive into a Healthcare Giant

The competition didn't start easily when the team was assigned a case study of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS). The challenge covered multiple dimensions such as operational performance, company strategy, financial budgeting, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) implementation, AI Back Office usage in hospitals, and maintaining customer satisfaction. "Our team had to analyze and prepare recommendation reports for business problem solutions. We divided responsibilities among team members based on each person's capabilities and strengths." From teams that applied nationwide, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Thailand selected only 15 teams, with Team Kar-Ki being one of them.

Creative and Practical Ideas

In Round 2, challenges increased with 2 additional questions: a business model under the Smart Health Care concept and risks of Data Privacy usage. "Our team didn't just analyze data alone – we had the opportunity to visit and observe real hospital operations, listening to company information from executives in each department. This gave us a deeper understanding of hospital operations. On presentation day, Team Kar-Ki presented feasible projects such as AI voice recording between medical personnel and patients, sensor technology for detecting patient falls, food and medicine delivery robots inspired by famous hotpot restaurants, and ESG recommendations through comparisons with competitor hospitals."

The Greatest Challenge: Breaking Down the Problem

"The most difficult thing was analyzing the business problem because the questions we received were complex and hospitals are highly specialized businesses," the team explained their main obstacle. "Initially, we had some misanalysis of the questions, but fortunately, we had professors providing consultation, pointing out directions or issues that should be presented, which helped our team analyze more accurately and from multiple dimensions."

A.Attawan Juntasutho, the advisory professor, shared her opinion on the team's potential: "These students already have great potential. I nurtured and guided each student to use their full potential, resulting in quality work."

When Differences Become Strengths

Winning the silver medal wasn't easy – it resulted from true teamwork. "Our team was fortunate to compete together this time. It gave us knowledge and understanding of real business in various dimensions and developed our skills further – thinking and analysis, teamwork, work presentation, and brought us closer together with more idea exchanges. Our ideas came from combining small good thoughts into the best ideas."

Passing Experience to the Next Generation

Although Team Kar-Ki are 4th-year students with no more competition opportunities, they have a new goal: "We will pass on the experience we gained to junior students and hope that future accounting students will help build reputation for the Faculty of Accounting, Bangkok University, until they can win the championship." The silver medal that Team Kar-Ki won is not just an award – it's proof that teamwork can create great things, and that's the true power of teamwork.
