Communication Arts Student Extends Classroom Knowledge to Voice of New Generation at SX Youth Speech Contest

Mr. Jiraphong Weerakul, student in Communications and New Media, School of Communication Arts, passed the selection to become 1 of 10 finalists in the 6th SX Youth Speech Contest under Sustainability Expo 2025 (SX 2025)

Mr. Jiraphong Weerakul, student in Communications and New Media, School of Communication Arts, passed the selection to become 1 of 10 finalists in the 6th SX Youth Speech Contest under Sustainability Expo 2025 (SX 2025), reflecting that knowledge and communication skills from the classroom can be extended and actually used on a national-level stage.

This competition was held under the theme "Adapt Together for a Sustainable Future," where participants must present concepts through speeches reflecting understanding of sustainability issues in environmental and social dimensions and the role of the new generation.

Mr. Jiraphong Weerakul applied knowledge from the course "Presentation and Negotiation" to develop a speech titled "Hero Within Us: Small Power Creates a Sustainable World," which could clearly convey major sustainability issues connected to listeners' daily lives, stimulating awareness and actual action through issue analysis, content structure planning, contemporary example selection, and powerful storytelling techniques that reach audiences.

This success reflects the teaching and learning approach of the Department of Communication and New Media, Bangkok University, which emphasizes learning through actual practice, providing opportunities for students to face real situations, test skills, and learn from platforms outside the classroom to develop potential toward becoming professional communicators in the future.

Communications and New Media Department, School of Communication Arts, congratulates Mr. Jiraphong Weerakul on this success, which represents another important step for Bangkok University students in demonstrating potential on a national-level stage and is a clear example of applying classroom knowledge to real, concrete use.
