Creative City Festival: Awakening the City's DNA to Drive Tourism towards Creative Economy

Tourism Management, MICE and Management at School of Humanities and Tourism Management organized an integrated teaching approach under the theme "Creative City Festival: Awakening the City's DNA, Driving Tourism towards Creative Economy".

Honored with the presence of Mr. Boonperm Intanapasart, CEO of RUNRIO Thailand and President of the Thai International Festival and Event Trade Association (TIEFA), who served as a special guest speaker and project evaluator.

This activity was part of the Special Event Management course, where students gained hands-on experience in organizing special events, and the Trends and Issues in Tourism and MICE Industry course. Students were tasked with designing a creative festival to promote tourism and MICE business in Pathum Thani province. This approach integrated Project-based Learning to help students develop skills in both planning and practical execution that connect with industry needs.

Students from both courses collaborated to organize the actual event, which provided opportunities to learn directly from the speakers' experiences and exchange perspectives on developing festivals that meet market demands. Additionally, they practiced working together in real-world situations. This activity reflected practical learning that helps prepare students to enter the tourism and MICE industries as professionals.

The activity was supervised by Dr.Nonthawan Songserm, Instructor for the Trends and Issues in Tourism and MICE Industry course, and Ajarn Paskrich Sutthiwetin, Instructor for the Special Event Management course.
