U.S. Embassy Officers have collaboratively shared their cases with students in the Business English Program, BU International in the talk session titled “Career Chat on Foreign Affairs” by Ms. Nora Khatcherian, Public Engagement Officer (Emerging Voices) and Ms. Anocha Hoontrakoon, Exchange & Alumni Coordinator. In this session, the students gained valuable experiences that guide them on how to prepare for future careers in international affairs in a competitive and challenging world.
During the shared cases, Khun Anocha unveiled her personal journey of applying her dream job several times before successfully securing a position in foreign affairs. She highlighted the challenges she faced including rejections, intense competition, and the need for continued self- improvement. She emphasized the importance of resilience and strategic career planning offering the students practical tips on updating their resume based on the specific job they are applying for. She advised that candidates should tailor their resumes to highlight relevant skills and experiences ensuring they align with the job description and requirements. The session brought in the case study that inspired our students with a realistic perspective on career growth, and the importance of refining their professional profiles to stand out in a competitive job market.
