BU-ITI Empowers Students towards National Insurance Innovation Competition "Insurance Value Chain: Transforming Insurance with Technology"

School of Information Technology and Innovation was honored by the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) to organize a Roadshow event for the OIC InsurTech Award 2025 project, featuring a workshop on "Insurance Value Chain: Transforming Insurance with Technology"

 

 

This activity was organized to enhance knowledge and understanding about technology in the insurance business sector (InsurTech), while encouraging students in Computer Science (CS), Cyber Security and Data Science (CSDS), and Information Technology (IT) programs to demonstrate their innovative potential and develop concepts for participation in national-level competitions.

 

 

On this occasion, Dr.Phattanapon Rhienmora, Dean, School of Information Technology and Innovation, Dr. Pakapan Limtrairut, Associate Dean, School of Information Technology and Innovation, and Asst. Prof.Sirinthorn Cheyasak, Chairperson, Computer Science and Information Technology Department, welcomed distinguished experts from the OIC Office.

 

 

During the event, students received lectures and guidance from experts from the OIC Office and the Center of InsurTech, Thailand (CIT), as well as gained experience from speakers from the Thai General Insurance Association (TGIA), led by Dr. Pongpanu, Executive Director of the Thai General Insurance Association, along with a team of experts from the OIC Office. The participating experts from the OIC Office included Khun Prapapas Kulpaworapas, Senior Expert; Khun Apichaya Thaweechaikan, Group Head of Insurance Technology Promotion Group; Khun Nitcharawee Phonwa, Specialist; Khun Siwawut Wongyara, Professional Officer; Khun Nongnapat Yuvaphan, Professional Officer; and Khun Kunyaphan Phongphithak, Academic Officer.

 

 

Under this workshop, students learned about analyzing the value chain in the insurance industry, applying technology to enhance operational efficiency, developing innovative business models, and practicing idea presentation through Business Model Canvas and Pitch Deck to prepare for the OIC InsurTech Award 2025 competition under the theme "Innovation for Insurance Literacy".

 

 

School of Information Technology and Innovation would like to thank the OIC Office, CIT Center, and the Thai General Insurance Association for their support, encouragement, and inspiration to students, while providing opportunities for students to fully demonstrate their potential on a national innovation stage.
