In a world of advancing technology, game creation has become an art that combines limitless imagination with modern technology. Students from Games and Interactive Media Design and Development , School of Information Technology and Innovation have proven that dedication and creative power can lead to success, as they have created games that won awards at the Game Talent Showcase 2024 competition.

Let's get to know The Wishing Well, which won The Best of Game Design Award. Created by Mr. Nakarin Yimcharoen or Dew, it was inspired by Bookworm Adventures Game (the English word-forming game), combining the challenges of RPGs with calculation, resulting in a unique gaming experience. "I have created a world of adventure where players must use both left and right brain to overcome obstacles. The battles in this game don't just use swords or magic, but the power of numbers and mathematical equations. The faster and more accurately you think, the better chance you have to defeat enemies." 

The Fun of The Wishing Well

"The challenge of the game lies in combining the fun of gaming with practicing math skills. I want players to get both entertainment and benefits from playing this game."

Best of Game Design Award

The award criteria are divided into various categories. “The Best of Game Design Award is given to games with innovative gameplay design that is well-presented. It focuses on game rules, with advanced and interesting complexity. My game applies complex math thinking in gameplay, and importantly, can keep players engaged continuously."

The Quarantine: Suspense Hidden in Darkness

Another outstanding project is "The Quarantine", which won The Best of Visual Art Award. It was created by a team of 4 students, led by Mr.Sahachoke Khwanchit (Few), Miss Boonyisa Sukhanon (Prem), Miss Maneerat Boonchan (Deejung) and Miss Penporn Kanjanarakpong (Earn)

The Quarantine: A Survival Game

"The Quarantine is a game that takes players into a world of survival, where light is the only hope to escape from dangers in the darkness. This game will challenge players' wit with visuals, light, color, and sound effects that create suspense throughout."

Fighting Against Darkness

"We wanted to create an experience that makes players feel like they're in a world full of dangers. Every decision the player makes affects their survival, making the game exciting and challenging at all times."

Best of Visual Art Award

The Best of Visual Art Award is given to games with outstanding visual production. "Besides the fun that comes from the team's creativity and successful coding, one thing that can't be missed and makes the game more interesting is beautiful illustrations and unique characters. This comes from the skills of 3 team members who translated our ideas into beautiful lines, leading to winning this award."

Winning awards at Game Talent Showcase 2024 are not only confirms the students' abilities but also opens doors to new opportunities in the rapidly growing game industry. The success of both teams not only brings pride to the students themselves but also inspires their peers and juniors who will follow in their footsteps.
