“Art Beyond Canvas” Course: Dib Bangkok x BU Delivers World-Class Expertise

Over 42 hours at the Dib Bangkok International Contemporary Art Museum in collaboration with the School of Fine and Applied Arts to organized a special training course "Art Beyond Canvas: Management in Art Industry" - a curriculum designed to elevate participants' potential to become professional art management specialists through learning from world-class experts and real internship experiences with leading art organizations.


The "Art Beyond Canvas: Management in Art Industry" course is divided into 3 core learning pillars: Contemporary Art & Visual Culture, Art Industry Foundation, and Management in Art Industry & Practice. This curriculum design emphasizes integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring participants receive comprehensive knowledge that can be effectively implemented in their work.


The course was honored to have distinguished lecturers from both domestic and international backgrounds providing knowledge to trainees every week. In the final phase of the training, participants were honored to have from Dr.Paramaporn Sirikulchayanont, former Director of Silpakorn University Art Gallery, lead the study tour of art spaces while lecturing on "Managing Art Space," along with special lectures by by K. Arin Rungjang, artist and curator, Artistic Director of Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025 on "The Role of Artists in Local and International Contexts," K. Ida Ng, CEO of Artmove, Helu-trans Group, sharing experiences on "Art Handling, Art Storage, and Registrar," and Ms. Sara Mao, Director of Christie's Education, providing knowledge on "The US$60 Billion Dollar Business of Art (The Global Art Market)."


On the final day of training, participants presented their work based on assignments from Dib Bangkok Museum, with Asst. Prof. Sansern Milindasuta, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, attending the closing ceremony.


After completing the theoretical learning phase, project participants will receive 120 hours of professional experience through real internships with leading partner organizations in the art world, including Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC) Ministry of Culture, Jim Thompson Art Center, Bangkok CityCity Gallery, Gallery VER, SAC Gallery, Nova Contemporary Bangkok Kunsthalle, ATTA Gallery, and Dib Bangkok.
