In the Footsteps of S.E.A. Write Award Winners: Decoding Storytelling Written from the Heart
School of Digital Media and Cinematic Arts organized a Master Class on "Literature & Cinema" featuring two-time S.E.A. Write Award winner P' Maem Veeraporn Nitiprapha together with A.Napat Jittapinankanta. The event created a space emphasizing the importance of heartfelt storytelling, along with guidance on creating work that is unique and truly reflects one's identity. The event was held at the Screening Room, School of Digital Media and Cinematic Arts, Bangkok University (Main Campus).
Amid an atmosphere of knowledge exchange among students and those interested in literature and film, P' Maem shared her perspective that "writing is turning thoughts into images." She posed a question to participants: "When you write a film or a story, do you reflect yourself in it?" This emphasized the concept that good creative work must come from sincerity and authenticity. She also stated, "Every time you create something, see it as growth, learning from within yourself, before waiting for awards or something greater." She left participants with the thought-provoking question: "History may tell us who we are, but what is our true reality?"
At the end of the activity, P' Maem offered another important insight: "All storytelling should begin with a concept, then find the appropriate method to bring that story to readers or viewers." She pointed out that powerful storytelling doesn't lie in technique or form, but in "using your heart to present what you want to say."
This Master Class reflects the commitment of the School of Digital Media and Cinematic Arts, Bangkok University, in promoting creative thinking and storytelling skills for students, to help them develop professionally for the film industry.
