Professional Live Streamer Training: CNM x MBD Enhances Live Streaming Skills for Global Content Industry

Communications and New Media Department, School of Communication Arts, Bangkok University organized the "CNM x MBD Magic Live Moment" project to enhance live streaming skills - essential competencies for careers in the global content production industry.

Communications and New Media Department, School of Communication Arts, Bangkok University organized the "CNM x MBD Magic Live Moment" project to enhance live streaming skills - essential competencies for careers in the global content production industry. Students participating in the project learned from actual experts who provided lectures and live streaming demonstrations on "Decoding Live Streaming," with hands-on practice guided by expert coaches throughout the 3-month project duration, along with ongoing supervision and guidance from faculty advisors.

Asst. Prof.Dr.Weerapong Pounglek, course supervisor and Instructor Communications and New Media Department, School of Communication Arts, discussed the project's importance: "This project focuses on developing students to become sustainable professional influencers, based on three key principles: creating clear identity or memorable image, engaging storytelling, and doing what is ethically correct. Students will learn to create unique Brand Identity that distinguishes them from other influencers, while developing storytelling skills encompassing editing, adding effects, and audio enhancement to create content that captivates viewers from beginning to end. The project's career preparation covers learning from various expert groups, including academics specializing in influencer research, exemplary Mega and Macro Influencers, and leading companies like Magic Box Digital, ensuring students receive comprehensive skills in advertising campaign creation, product reviews, live streaming, and industry networking to genuinely generate professional income. Beyond specialized skills, students will develop responsible communication skills by learning to distinguish appropriate and inappropriate content for presentation, including content verification before publication to avoid creating misunderstandings or social divisions. Teamwork and understanding others are also crucial skills, as well as understanding and responding to follower needs both in real and virtual worlds."

Mr. Palthep Setteevan, CEO of MAGIC BOX GROUP, shared about organizing this project: "The company and Bangkok University recognize the need to develop students for the digital age, particularly live streaming skills that are in high demand in the market among both content creators and various brands. In developing curricula and activities for live broadcasting on modern platforms like TikTok, this collaboration emerged from both parties' shared understanding of the importance of adapting to technology and rapidly changing content creation market trends. The main objective of this collaboration is to create learning experiences that respond to continuously developing market demands, focusing on students learning Live Streaming skills systematically and being able to apply them professionally in real work while still studying through training and practical workshops. This covers everything from thinking processes and content planning, formatting presentations to align with creators' concepts, creating proposals to systematically organize and arrange thoughts, preparing for live streaming including comprehensive content creator preparation in all dimensions - both technical and content aspects, and finally having students conduct professional live streaming with company experts providing guidance and evaluating each group's work. This collaboration reflects educational development that responds to digital world changes and creates opportunities for students to learn skills that can be effectively applied in real work."

Meanwhile, Dr.Vimviriya Limkangvanmongkol, course supervisor and Instructor Communications and New Media Department, added regarding preparing students for future work: "Essential skills for live streaming work comprise multiple aspects that must work together efficiently. Starting with image management skills, which involve designing channel image to clearly communicate identity, and surrounding elements such as backgrounds and live atmosphere that must align with content to create impressive experiences for viewers. Next is teamwork skills, where members must understand their own and others' roles, be responsible, disciplined, and work strictly according to schedules to ensure smooth and quality operations. Another indispensable skill is creativity, which plays a crucial role in planning concepts, content, and program scripts to remain fresh and consistently engaging. Additionally, adaptability and flexibility are required since live streaming situations can change at any time. Finally, there are immediate problem-solving skills, essential when unexpected events occur, requiring both front-stage and backstage teams to use quick wit and rapid decision-making to maintain professional live streaming continuity."

In the digital age where communication and information access happen rapidly, Live Streaming skills have become one of the important tools for communication, brand building, and real-time connection with target audiences, whether in business, education, entertainment, or even personal marketing contexts. Live streaming opens opportunities for content creators to directly reach viewers. Additionally, live streaming skills reflect capabilities in planning, creative thinking, professional communication, and effectively handling immediate situations.

During this event, awards were presented with honor from Ms. Rochata Tuampong, project judge and Project Manager from Magic Box Digital Company Limited, who spoke about the overall event, and Ms. Nattanan Homruen, Assistant Executive Director of Magic Box Digital Company Limited, who presented awards to the three winning student teams. They received TikTok platform diamond rewards worth 5,000 baht along with certificates for Team Dekbu, Team RedGroove, and Team Jehmouth, plus opportunities to sign contracts with Magic Box Digital Company.
