The AI Engineering and Entrepreneurship (AIEE) international program is designed for students who want to combine cutting-edge technical expertise with entrepreneurial skills. Offered as a joint degree between King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Bangkok University School of Entrepreneurship and Management (BUSEM), this four-year journey blends artificial intelligence, innovation, and business development.
A Unique Joint-Degree Program
The AI Engineering and Entrepreneurship (AIEE) international program is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Bangkok University School of Entrepreneurship and Management (BUSEM). Students spend two years at KMITL and another two years at BU, gaining a balance of technical expertise in artificial intelligence and entrepreneurial skills. Over the course of four years, this joint-degree program equips students to become innovators and leaders who are ready to thrive in both the technology and business sectors.
Hands-On Learning
with Global Opportunities
The AIEE program goes beyond theory, providing students with practical learning through projects, internships, study abroad opportunities, and overseas training at top universities and companies. In their final year, students can choose between two different paths:
Plan 1, which allows for overseas training, co-op, or study abroad in just 3.5 years.
Plan 2, a four-year incubation pathway focused on developing a startup from idea to execution. Both options ensure that students gain meaningful real-world experience and, in many cases, the chance to launch their own ventures before graduation.
Industry-Specific Tracks
A distinctive feature of the program is the opportunity to specialize in one of three high-demand industries. Students can choose the Food and Biotechnology Industry, focusing on areas such as AI in food production, zero waste management, and smart factories. Another option is the Digital and IoT Industry, which includes user interface design, robotics, IoT applications, and generative AI. The third track is the Electric Vehicle and Logistics Industry, where students explore green logistics, renewable energy, carbon neutrality, and modern transportation technology. These tracks prepare students to contribute directly to global industries undergoing rapid transformation.
Global Exposure and Partnerships
With its international focus, AIEE offers students exposure to global academic and professional environments. The program partners with world-class institutions, including Babson College in the United States, Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore, and the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. In addition to these academic partnerships, students complete domestic internships, international internships, and overseas training, gaining valuable networks and perspectives that enhance both their technical and entrepreneurial skills.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the AIEE program are well-prepared to step into a wide range of careers at the intersection of technology and business. Potential roles include AI engineer, machine learning engineer, AI programmer, project manager, and innovation designer, as well as industry-specific positions such as biomedical AI specialist, food technology AI specialist, logistics and supply chain engineer, or electric mobility engineer.
